Turfs and Fences on the Mac Desktop lets you take control of your desktop like never before. Instead of a cluttered mess, you can organize content into defined areas, each backed by a real folder, a Finder tag, or your own custom selection of files and folders. These turfs stay in place even when you use Show Desktop, and you get to decide how they behave with Mission Control. When you quit the app, your desktop returns to exactly how it was before, so there's no mess left behind. Because it replaces Finder's own desktop icon layer, it works directly with the system and can't be sandboxed, which is why you won't find it on the Mac App Store. The price is a one-time payment of $29, and you can try it free for 10 days without even entering a credit card. It's a simple, elegant way to keep your Mac's desktop organized and efficient.
